I decided that if I was going to get serious about art, I'd better start an art blog. That and the fact that I'm tired of e-mailing friends and family around the country about my newest painting or an upcoming art show. This way the ones who are interested can check the blog, and the others don't have to cringe every time they see my name in their inbox.
Here I am with my partner, Alex Schaefer, next to our piece in the Joint Custody Project. This was a show put on by Found Gallery that had lots of rules and a specific time frame. Alex chronicled the progress of our piece on his blog, and you can read about the process and see photos of it in various stages.
The next photo is just an overhead shot of opening night. It was crazy crowded, but fun with lots of music and drinks.
The third shot is of myself and two of my friends who came to the opening, Laura De Leon and fellow artist Raymond Y Newton. There were lots more who came to support me, but these were the only two who would consent to having their picture taken.
I have a piece in another show coming up this Friday at La Luz de Jesus Gallery, 4633 Hollywood Blvd., so if you want your mug shot on this blog, come by between 8 and 11 and make sure I take your photo.
